Casey Woodring

Regarded as one of the better shooters in New England, Casey Woodring comes to Providence from Cushing Academy where he was part of a NEPSAC AA championship team. Woodring enters his freshman season at Providence as a recruited walk-on, and he’s known PC head coach Ed Cooley since he was in the 5th grade.

Where Woodring has gone success has followed. In his first two seasons in the prep ranks he won a NEPSAC Class A title and played in a Class A championship at Choate prior to wrapping up his career with a third straight championship appearance, albeit at a different level, at Cushing.

“I’ve known Coach Cooley for a while. I would workout and play at Fairfield when he was there and we kept in touch when he was in Providence. He has seen me a bunch, knows my game and what I bring to the table. We have a mutual respect for each other,” Woodring told Friarbasketball in June.

Woodring and teammate Paschal Chukwu were AAU teammates with CBC.

He appeared in seven games a year ago.
