Brandon Austin
Blessed with long arms and well above average leaping ability, Brandon Austin comes to Providence via Imhotep Charter High School in Philadelphia were he won three straight Pennsylvania state championships and climbed all the way to #56 nationally in ESPN’s rankings of the class of 2013. The 6’6 Austin glides with the ball in his hands and has the ability to finish well above the rim.
The freshman-to-be chose Providence over Texas and Connecticut last fall and could play up to three positions for the Friars in 2013-14 (1-3). He’ll join a veteran core in Providence, but with his upside is projected to see solid minutes from the start this season.
Friarbasketball was in attendance to see Austin take on powerhouse Chester last season and detailed how Austin ended up at Providence after his commitment last November.
Here is the video from the game versus Chester.
