Twitter Reaction: PC Over Creighton in BET
- Updated: March 9, 2018
It was a full team effort for Providence in Thursday’s Big East Tournament Quarterfinal victory over Creighton. Alpha Diallo scored in the closing seconds of the second half to tie the game and then stopped 1st Team All Big East performer on the other end to force overtime. PC pushed its lead to four behind a beautiful spin move and step back by Kyron Cartwright with 15 seconds left in the overtime session, and survived missed Creighton’s game-tying attempt with two seconds to play.
The 72-68 victory should all but seal Providence’s fifth straight NCAA Tournament bid under Ed Cooley.
Diallo finished with a team high 19 points (with nine rebounds), while Jalen Lindsey had his second career double double (11 points, 10 rebounds), Cartwright and Rodney Bullock scored 13 points each, and Isaiah Jackson was big off of the bench with nine points and nine boards.
Here is the reaction from Twitter from a gritty, physical effort:

Congratulations to the Friars for bursting that bubble! What an excellent, all-around, balanced effort, w/ all three starting seniors stepping up in a big way. It was particularly gratifying to see Lindsey finally make his presence known again. …huge rebound by Bullock late, huge, magically manufactured jumper by Cartwright late, and a monster performance by Diallo, the cornerstone for next year’s edition. They’re very deservedly in the Dance now, but here’s to the hope for more damage in NY this weekend. Go Friars!
