Twitter Reaction: Friars Pick Up Road Win
- Updated: January 13, 2018
Behind a 22-0 second half run, Providence came from 12 points down to win at DePaul on Friday night, 71-64.
Jalen Lindsey led four Friars in double figures with 18 points, as Alpha Diallo scored 16 while grabbing nine rebounds, and Isaiah Jackson was once again solid with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals off of the bench.
The action on the floor felt almost secondary to those watching on FoxSports 1, as both Ed Cooley and DePaul head coach Dave Leitao were mic’d up throughout the entire broadcast. This provided viewers with a fascinating look into the huddle, the locker room, and the sideline.
Cooley was clearly frustrated with his centers on this night, as he went small early in the second half, leading to the tide-turning 22-0 outburst. Cooley rode the lineup of Lindsey, Diallo, Jackson, Kyron Cartwright, and Rodney Bullock for virtually all of the second half, and DePaul was unable to matchup defensively.
Diallo was particularly effective in the second half, scoring 14 of his 16 points after the break.
Here’s a look at the reaction on Twitter.
