1. Jon Rothstein was busy producing Big East and national content this week. In his Big East Breakdown, Rothstein projected Providence to finish fourth in the league behind Villanova, Creighton, and UConn. On Providence, Rothstein wrote, “Another NCAA Tournament Run is expected.”
Rothstein ranked Providence 35th nationally in his “Early Rothstein 45 for 2021.” Five Big East teams made his top 45, with Villanova (2), Creighton (10), UConn (28), PC, and Seton Hall (43) making the cut.
2. Jeff Goodman did not have the Friars in his top 50 rankings. As far as Big East schools, Goodman has Villanova #2, Creighton 9, Seton Hall 27, UConn 34, and Marquette 50, in his top 50.
3. Hats off to Morey Hershgordon of WPRI who conducted an in-depth interview with Friar great Jamel Thomas. Thomas is starting a new clothing line.
Jamel Thomas’ (@JAMEL530) birth mom was shot when he was 4. He never met his father.
This Spring, his aunt turned second mother & his brother died from COVID-19.
