- Updated: November 29, 2019
News and notes from around Friartown…
1. Providence’s 66-65 loss to Long Beach State was one of two losses for the Big East on Thanksgiving Day. Creighton was buried by San Diego State, 83-52, late last night, while Seton Hall bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to Oregon on Wednesday to defeat Southern Miss, 81-56. Meanwhile, Markus Howard was spectacular (40 points) in Marquette’s exciting win over Davidson. Massachusetts native Kellen Grady finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds for Davidson.
Friday marks a busy day of Big East hoops. Providence takes on the College of Charleston at 4:30 (ESPNU, 99.7 FM), while DePaul plays Minnesota (3:00pm), Marquette takes on USC (4:30pm, ESPN2), Creighton goes up against #12 Texas Tech (10:30pm, FS1), and the Hall takes on Iowa State (7pm, ESPNU).
2. The Providence Journal’s Kevin McNamara writes on how PC has reached a defining point of its season well before anyone expected.

3. Brendan McGair of the Pawtucket Times asked Ed Cooley after the loss to Penn if his team would press more. He wrote more on the subject yesterday.
Column: I believe the #Friars have the makings of a good full-court pressing team. They shouldn’t wait until falling behind before unleashing it. #PCBB #BigEasthoops https://t.co/tXcmumoPcG

I don’t see this team beating Brown this year. Players are very lazy on both sides of the ball. Like I said in the past players are just not developing under the current coaching staff. The team looks lost.
