Twitter Reactions: Friars Roll Butler
- Updated: March 10, 2019
Isaiah Jackson scored a season high 20 points on Senior Day, and freshman AJ Reeves put in 21 of his 24 points in the first half to lead a Providence rout of Butler on Saturday. The Friars led by as many as 28 points before eventually finishing the Bulldogs off, 83-70.
This was a total team effort for PC. Kalif Young was strong off of the bench with seven points, eight rebounds, and four blocks, while Maliek White played a team high 35 minutes and pushed the pace in a 48 point first half for the Friars.
Providence shot 11-19 from deep, 18-22 at the free throw line, and will head to Madison Square Garden to play this same Butler group on Wednesday in the Big East Tournament.
Here is some of the reaction from Twitter:
So happy my family had the chance to visit me and watched me play my last game in the Dunkin donut center.. Also thankful for scoring over a 1,000 points in my last game in the dunk..… https://t.co/K4vaMsa7z2

Thought Kalif Young was the catalyst for the comback the other night & he has brought it again today. Very unheralded but brings energy always. #pcbb

…nice to see AJR reemerge; there’s a lot more where that came from.
…would love to see E. Holt come back for a 6th; he was a force before he took ill.
Even though its said that it’s hard to beat one’s rival three times in a season, I’d rather be a Friar than a Bulldog come Wed.
