Twitter Reactions: Friars Fall to Nova
- Updated: March 12, 2016
Providence lost to Villanova in the Big East Semifinals, 76-68, on Friday night. PC stars Kris Dunn (9 points, 1-8 shooting) and Ben Bentil (3 points, 1-5 shooting) were shut down by Nova in this one, but the Friars got solid nights out of Rodney Bullock (18 points, 7 rebounds, 4-5 from 3), Kyron Cartwright (14 points, 6-10 shooting) and Drew Edwards (3-4 shooting).
Bentil fouled out early, and the Friars trailed by as many as 14 points deep into the second half, but went on a run to cut the lead to two with over six minutes to play. Villanova was ultimately too much for the Friars on this night though, and pulled away in the final minute.
Providence now awaits Selection Sunday, when they will find out where they are headed for the NCAA Tournament.
