- Updated: December 21, 2015
News, notes, and opinions on Friar basketball (and other topics) while celebrating what a great time it is to be a Friar.
- The latest polls are out and PC is currently ranked 10th in the AP Writer’s Poll. Other Big East teams in the top 25 include Xavier at 6th, Butler at 9th, and Villanova at 17th. Wow!
- The PC game at Butler on December 31st is going to be one of the Friars’ biggest games of the past 20 years, particularly if the Providence can get by UMass tonight.
- One of the benefits to playing with a national player of the year candidate is that it becomes easier for you to gain some national attention yourself. The latest example of this is Ben Bentil, who was recently recognized by ESPN’s Andy Katz as potentially being the most improved player in the country.
- Speaking of Bentil, Bill Reynolds has a very nice article on the PC power forward in today’s Providence Journal.
- Here are some previews of the upcoming UMass game tonight:
- The dimension that Ryan Fazekas adds to this team is sorely missed and the sooner her back the better for th Friars.
- 10th in the latest AP poll? This is getting serious Friar fans. Enjoy the ride.
