Update on 9/9 In-Home Visits
- Updated: August 31, 2015
Providence’s coaching staff can make in-home visits on Sept. 9, and while it has been reported elsewhere that the Friar staff will visit with five-star forward Wenyen Gabriel of Wilbraham & Monson and Worcester Academy power forward Kevin Marfo, two other visits are also planned for that day.
Sedee Keita is a name that is quickly becoming more and more familiar in Providence. The 6’10 power forward is a consensus top 100 player who ESPN listed as 2016’s 80th overall prospect in their most recent rankings.
Keita transferred this summer to nearby Putnam Science Academy and was in Providence on Monday afternoon with PSA teammate and fellow Friar recruit Chuba Ohams. The duo scrimmaged with the current Friar roster at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
The Friar staff is also looking to visit with 2016 point guard Shamorie Ponds on the 9th. Like Gabriel, Ponds was one of the breakout players this summer, but there were reports that he could commit to St. John’s as early as Monday night. The Brooklyn native is schedule to visit Providence from Sept. 11-13.
