Paschal Chukwu to Transfer
- Updated: May 18, 2015
For the second straight year, Ed Cooley is forced to announce the transfer of one of his key players. This afternoon PC released the following statement that up-coming sophomore big man, Paschal Chukwu will leave Providence College.
Here is the release from PC’s athletic department:
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – It was announced today that Providence College freshman center Paschal Chukwu (Westport, Conn.) will leave the men’s basketball team. Chukwu played in 34 games this season and averaged 2.6 points and 2.4 rebounds.
“I would like to wish Paschal success in his future plans,” Head Coach Ed Cooley said. “He helped us have a successful season in 2014-15 and advance to the NCAA Tournament.”
We will have more on this story as it develops.

Well that’s too bad. But he did average less than 3 points and 3 rebounds a game.

Jeff, this kid was going to explode, this is a really bad loss. Jimmie by all accounts good student / model citizen. This is just bizarre because he was so happy to be here, I just don’t understand

Best wishes to this young man. He gave a good effort when he got some playing time. It does raise some concern about the program. But Cooley is working hard to teach them about basketball and life.

This is a big blow in my opinion. He goes into this season being the Friars go to guy in the paint. Friars are out of the picture in the Big East, if you ask me.
