The Providence Jamfest is being held this Saturday and Sunday at Rhode Island College and other sites throughout the state.  Annually one of featuring a loaded field, the Jamfest provides an opportunity local fans to catch some of the nation’s top high school players in action.

Jamfest alumni include many big names from the NBA and college basketball. Here is a highlight reel on Andre Drummond from the 2010 Providence Jamfest (note who no. 4 is on Drummond’s CBC team):

That 2010 Providence Jamfest was loaded and included many names very familiar to PC fans including Kris Dunn, Ricky Ledo, Naadir Tharpe, Khem Birch, Michael Carter Williams, Alex Murphy, Kaleb Tarczewski, and Tyler Harris.

This year’s Jamfest will showcase many of the top AAU programs from throughout the region, including the Mass Rivals, New England Playaz, Expressions Elite (16u and 15u teams), Sports U, Middlesex Magic, Albany City Rocks, and BABC (15 u team).

A complete listing of brackets for each age group can be found here. Rhode Island College will be hosting the 17 and under games all weekend and will also feature the 16 and under games on Sunday.

Several other outstanding players will be on hand during the weekend including the top player in the class of 2018, 6’10 power forward Naz Reid of Sports U:

Reid is just one of several younger players who are scheduled to take part in the Providence Jamfest who are just starting to burst on the recruiting scene. Other names to watch out for include AJ Reeves (Mass Rivals class of 2018), Geo Baker (BABC class of 2017), Preston Santos (Expressions Elite and Bishop Hendricken class of 2018), Shandon Brown (BABC class of 2018), Walter Whyte (High Rise (CT) class of 2017), and Derrick Ellis (Expressions class of 2017).
