From a columnist in the Fort Wayne Sentinal concerning last night’s Friars win: “I grow weary of watching coaches – particularly high-major ones that have financial security for life – walk on egg shells all of the time. Be it in the scheduling of completely out-classed programs just to assure victory, or speaking in clichés and half-truths so as not to offend anyone (the media included). But watching the Providence coach roll out a second half lineup consisting of three reserves – and then not subbing for them – was a thing of beauty.
Who has the bravado to do that?
    On the road?
    In a league game?
    Ed Cooley does.
“I was willing to do everything that I could to show my team,” Cooley explained, “that when you play with a purpose, and you play with a sense of urgency, unbelievable things happen.
“I didn’t care who played. I wanted the five toughest Friars in uniform. That’s what I wanted.”
I love Ed Cooley. He’s awesome.

Good idea for the players not to go to clas–if you don’t care about them staying eligible.
