Here are links to five topics that may be of interest to Friar fans.

1. Craig Belhumeur has a great article on how Ed Cooley “gets it” and how important Ed is to the fundraising efforts of Providence College which includes enabling the team to fly on chartered flights.

2. Bill Reynolds has a couple of great takes on the Friars and on Bryce Cotton in his 3 mini-columns in one article today.

3. The PC Men’s Ice Hockey team is hosting a Hockey East best of three quarter final series against the University of Maine this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (if necessary) at Schneider arena. Here are some more details on the series. Tickets, which are $15 each, can be purchased by clicking here, or by calling the Providence College ticket office at 401-865-GOPC.

4. Kevin McNamara’s article today is on how the Friars are hoping the bubble doesn’t burst.

5. Appalachian State has fired their head basketball coach Jason Capel. This may free the way for Friar recruit Devonte Graham to be eligible for the 2014-2015 college basketball season as noted here and here. If you are wondering what type of player Graham is you can check out these highlights:

Bonus: In case you missed it Bryce Cotton was named to the All American second team by NBC Sports. ABC6 was able to catch up with Bryce at practice yesterday and got his thoughts on the upcoming Big East Tournament.
