Friar Starting Five: Thursday Edition

2. Here is a great article in Bluejays Today about Bryce Cotton emphasizing how Bryce would be getting a lot more publicity right now if it were not for Doug McDermott.

3. Kris Dunn is having his number retired tonight by New London High School. Kevin McNamara has a nice write up on the event in the Providence Journal. 

4. VU Hoops has come up with their latest Big East Power Rankings and unfortunately the Friars are slipping to sixth. This is another example to show how important the game on Saturday against Depaul is. Time to right the ship!

5. Today is Throwback Thursday in Social Media so here is a fond memory in Friar history:

The USSR had defeated the United States at the 1972 Olympics the previous summer and was touring the US playing a series of games when they caught up with Ernie and Marvin at Madison Square Garden.
