Twitter Reactions: Friar Offense Stalls vs. Nova
- Updated: January 25, 2020
Providence had several opportunities to seize control against Villanova in a lively Dunkin Donuts Center, but cold shooting and untimely turnovers did them in, as Nova won 64-60. Nate Watson was Providence’s best offensive option, going for 18 points on 7-12 shooting, but the Friars shot 3-23 from beyond the 3-point arc and made just 7-30 from the field in the second half.
Here is some of the reaction from Twitter:

Our crowd gave us every opportunity to be successful. We could not capitalize on our chances. We have had a tough time making the open shots. Had a lot of chances under 4 minutes. – Ed Cooley #gofriars pic.twitter.com/uDtlg0meBN

The State of the Day: Providence, 4 assists. For the game. Tough to win when offense is like pulling teeth.
— Kevin McNamara (@KevinMcNamara33) January 25, 2020
Cooley: “In all honesty I think the coaches need a bye more than the players. That’s the truth. This has been a very taxing year on us. My team is a good team. Our record isn’t indicating the effort and energy we’re putting into it. It’s not like we’re not getting the effort.”

One player who did not have any problems offensively was Nate Watson. Thought he turned in his best game of the season. #friars #pcbb #bigeasthoops

Today’s attendance at The Dunk: 12,927. Villanova head coach Jay Wright: “That was one of the best college basketball environments in the country right there.” #PCBB #Friars #BigEasthoops
