PC at St. John’s Highlights
- Updated: December 29, 2017
Providence opened their 17-18 Big East schedule with a bang, notching their first true road win of the season in impressive fashion beating St. John’s 94-72 in Queens. After trading leads throughout the first half, PC put on a clinic in the second, in what was their best half of basketball of the young season.
One thing was made abundantly clear tonight: the Friars will go as far as Kyron Cartwright takes them. Cartwright was spectacular in his return from an ankle injury, putting up season highs in points (21), assists (15) and steals (4), while shooting 8-11 from the floor.
Alpha Diallo had a great showing in his return from his own ankle injury. He picked up his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 boards in 37 minutes, after playing only 13 minutes in the previous four games combined.
Finally, Jalen Lindsey once again was lights out from distance, making a season-high six threes on 10 attempts. He is shooting 49.2% from three this season while attempting almost 5 per game.
