Josh Fortune

A streaky, 6’5 shooter out of Virginia, Josh Fortune enters his sophomore season with an opportunity to provide the Friars with a needed outside shooting presence in 2013-14.

As a freshman Fortune was, well, a freshman. Perhaps no player had a bigger adjustment to play through in 2012-13 than Fortune, who was thrust into huge minutes immediately due to injuries (he played 38 minutes in 10 of the team’s first 12 games) and then saw those minutes split in half when Vincent Council and Kris Dunn returned in December.

While his scoring tailed off when his minutes decreased, Fortune was the key player in a road win over Villanova that turned the 2012-13 season around. PC had lost 9 of 11 heading into that game, and Fortune caught fire, making all five of his 3 point attempts as the Friars won and proceeded to rip off a 7-1 record in their next eight games.
