Bryce Cotton

One of the better stories not just in Providence, but the entire Big East, Bryce Cotton transformed himself from high school afterthought to one of the best scorers in the country.

Cotton, an Arizona native, came cross-country to PC when offered a scholarship at the end of the summer prior to his freshman season. In a class that was once lauded as one of the better in the country due to the commitments of top 100 guards Gerard Coleman and Joseph Young, Cotton came in under the radar and played sporadic minutes as a freshman before establishing himself as a 14 ppg sophomore in 2011-12.

His career took off as a junior, as Cotton led the Big East in scoring (19.7 ppg) and made more three pointers in one season than any Friar in history (98). Once a guard who scored strictly off of three point attempts and the occasional floater, Cotton remains a feared long range threat, but is now capable of scoring off of the dribble and from mid-range. He’s a terrific leaper for a 6’1 guard.

Cotton was named 1st Team All Big East last season.
