- Updated: January 1, 2020
Providence rushed Georgetown, leading 14-0 to start the game, and eventually 54-23 at halftime before winning 76-60 on New Year’s Eve at the Dunkin Donuts Center. Alpha Diallo had perhaps his best game of the season, shooting 7-12 from the field and finishing with 20 points and eight rebounds. PC also benefited from a great all around game from David Duke. The sophomore finished with 10 points, eight assists, and six rebounds in the win.
PC made 10-18 from 3-point range in the first half, including a late barrage from AJ Reeves, who made 3-6 from deep in the first half.

Wow, where has this intensity been since the season started?
Obviously SOMETHING happened over the Christmas break to bring these guys together because this is the first time I’ve seen them play as a team plus they were hitting on all cylinders.
53.8% from the field, 40% from three, 76.9% from the line –
Crisp passing, good ball movement, assertive drives and shots, tenacious D – IS THIS THE SAME TEAM?
If THIS team was on the floor for all the games so far they’d be 12-2 or 11-3 at worst.
It’ll be an uphill battle to get to the tourney but there’s still an outside chance based on this performance.

Happy with the performance, but where was this type of intensity all year? Very frustrating.
