Could Shakeel Moore Be Next for Providence?
- Updated: September 16, 2019
Class of 2020 point guard Shakeel Moore visited Providence this past weekend and apparently had glowing things to say about his time in Rhode Island:
Shakeel Moore with some high praise for Providence after official visit. “Campus was beyond beautiful! Most wonderful staff I’ve ever been around.” @TheShakeelMoore

Moore is a 6’1 point guard out of Greensboro, NC who really began to emerge over the past year. The well-built lefty is known as a terrific athlete, but footage of him shows a guard who plays at a great tempo with nifty passing ability and a strong pull-up game. One of the top point guards in North Carolina, Moore is also reportedly a tenacious defender.
The summer of 2019 was good to Moore. He was one of 25 guards to participate in the CP3 Elite Point Guard Camp, he scored terrifically on the Nike EYBL circuit, and he also took part in the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
Moore has been strongly tied to Providence throughout the summer, but the Friars will have to hold off the likes of NC State, Buzz Williams and Texas A&M, and more.
Below are some videos of him in two highly-contested matchups. First against top 100 2019 guard Damion Baugh (part of Memphis’ monster recruiting class) and then versus 2019 Virginia Tech commit Jalen Cone (Moore is #1 in black in both videos).
