VIDEO: Cushing vs. St. Andrew’s in 7 Minutes

The outstanding prep career of Providence commit David Duke came to an end on Saturday, as Cushing Academy fell in the closing minutes to St. Andrew’s of Barrington, RI in the NEPSAC Class AA Semifinals.

Led by Cole Swider (2018 Villanova commit) and Brycen Goodine (2019 Syracuse pledge), St. Andrew’s was up by 15 midway through the second half. Cushing rallied late, however, as Duke knocked down a pair of critical 3-pointers in the final four minutes to tie the game.

St. Andrew’s took the lead for good with just under two minutes to play when they¬†connected on¬†a corner 3, got a stop on the other end, and then Swider grabbed and offensive rebound and finished while being fouled on the ensuing possession.

Cushing sliced the lead to one with 40 seconds remaining, but ultimately could never get over the hump.

I was in attendance and cut the game to seven minutes for those interested in seeing more of Duke. Duke is #3 in white, while Swider is #10 in black and Goodine is #0.
