Twitter Reactions: Cartwright at the Buzzer

Happy Thanksgiving, Friar fans. After Belmont converted a backdoor alley oop with under four seconds remaining to break a tie, Kyron Cartwright grabbed the inbounds pass, sprinted up the floor and tossed in a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Providence 66, Belmont 65.

It was a game that Ed Cooley said the Friars didn’t deserve to win, but he’ll certainly take it. Cooley implored his team to play with more force on the offensive end after a first half that saw them take just two free throws against a less physical Belmont group.

The Friars went inside in the final four minutes of the game offensively with success, but defensive lapses nearly cost them late.

Cartwright was clutch down the stretch, finishing with a team high 17 points. Rodney Bullock scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Jalen Lindsey knocked down four 3-pointers off of the bench.
