The Friars took home the 2K Classic trophy tonight in impressive fashion, thrashing St. Louis 90-63 at Madison Square Garden. The depth and balance of this year’s team was on full display, so much so that the 2K Classic MVP Kyron Cartwright didn’t make the cut on the individual reels.

In the opener vs. Washington, the Friars got a big lift from redshirt sophomore Drew Edwards, who scored a season-high 11 points.

Maliek White picked apart the Washington zone in the first game dishing out 6 assists, then shot the lights out vs. St. Louis.

Freshman Makai Ashton-Langford showed why he was so highly coveted, with a plethora of finishes vs. St. Louis.

And finally, senior Rodney Bullock put together back to back solid games, averaging 16 points and 6 rebounds per contest.
