Friar Basketball

Starting Five: 9/28/2017

News and notes from across Friartown and the college basketball landscape.

1. I loved this article from Brendan McGair of The Woonsocket Call on Ed Cooley’s decision to return to Twitter. The Friar head coach has been very active since returning to Twitter on Sept. 1 (and no, he doesn’t have a graduate assistant tweeting for him).

2. Providence is mourning the passing  of class of 1978 forward Bill Eason.

3. Been under a rock? Jeff Eisenberg explains why law enforcement was able to achieve what NCAA investigators could not. Kevin McNamara of The Providence Journal digs into the news, with quotes from Ed Cooley, Dan Hurley, and Tim O’Shea. Also included in the Projo article is a podcast with McNamara and Bill Reynolds on the subject.

4. Rick Pitino is out at Louisville, and the Indy Star’s Gregg Doyle goes back a decade to share why he doesn’t like him. The Sporting News’ Mike DeCourcy writes how Pitino played the “oblivious victim” one too many times.

5. The Friars will play on a newly-designed court this season. has more.

Can,t you tell my man Derick is disabled or are you disabled also because I am and making fun of the disabled will come back on you. Now to get back to what comment’s we are supposed to be talking about the Providence Collage Friars. I would like to know if Noah Loch is going to cut short his visits to any collages that are under indictment by the F.B.I. I would hope so. And are there any other recruits that are supposed to be in Big Ed’s eye and come for a visit to providence Collage.
