Twitter Reactions: Bentil’s 42
- Updated: February 11, 2016
It was another frustrating night in Milwaukee, as Providence fell in double overtime to Marquette, 96-91.
The Friars wasted a career night from Ben Bentil, who battled through an ankle injury to play 48 minutes, score 42 points, grab 12 rebounds, connect on six 3 pointers and take 17 free throws.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Bentil’s huge night.
Ben Bentil’s 42 points are the most in a #BIGEASThoops game this season & ties Donyell Marshall for 12th highest in conference game all-time

Ben Bentil wasn’t a preseason All BIG EAST selection. He wasn’t even on the BIG EAST Freshman Team last year.
Nation’s most improved? Yes.

Ben Bentil’s 42 point night was a nice blood pressure check. Incredible effort @MarquetteMBB in 2 OT win after the Xavier loss. #mubb

Ben Bentil should sue for nonsupport. Amazing performance on a gimpy ankle. Too many teammates came up small. #pcbb https://t.co/5f5YvOcQat

What a tremendous performance by Ben Bentil. But with Kris Dunn having fouled out, Big Ben couldn’t do it alone. Tough loss for @PCFriarsmbb

Friars lose in double OT at Marquette 96 to 91. Ben Bentil career high 42. Kris Dunn fouled out after scoring 17. PC has lost 4 of last 5.

Ben Bentil’s 6 3pt. FG’s were not enough, and while Marquette blew some leads late get a season sweep of PC. Impressive for a young team.

Hats off to Ben Bentil, who dropped 42 and added 12 boards for Providence in the double overtime loss pic.twitter.com/a26sKe6Ffg

Ben Bentil dropped 42 and 12 and Providence still lost. Guy was like Tom Hanks in Cast Away — on an island by himself. #pcbb

Ben Bentil 42 points & 12 boards… Lottery pick

Ben Bentil’s ankle is sore and I bet his shoulders are too after 42 points.
— Mark Dondero (@MarkDondero) February 11, 2016
Ben Bentil with 36 and 10 — and still less than 100 percent with that ankle injury. Problem is he and Kris Dunn need more help.

Ben Bentil is a man among boys. #Friars

36 for Ben Bentil, which makes him the BIG EAST’s single-game leading scorer this season I believe.

Third 30-point game of the year for Ben Bentil. @PCFriarsmbb may need him to reach 40 pts

Man. Ben Bentil with a huge three.

Ben Bentil (42) was the first #BIGEASThoops player to eclipse the 40-point mark since @dougmcd3 for @BluejayMBB on March 8, 2014.
