As a freshman last year the 6’6 Jackson averaged 8.7 points and 3.9 rebounds while playing 26 minutes per game for the Patriots. He will have to sit out this season for the Friars and will then have three years of eligibility left. Jackson is from Gainsville FL where he went to The Villages Charter High School.
Here is a video that shows a couple of Isaiah Jackson highlights against Wright State:
While in high school Jackson received interest from Florida, Florida State, and Miami before ultimately choosing George Mason.
Jackson came on strong at the end of last season for the Patriots scoring in double figures in eight of his last nine games. He is a very good outside shooter who shot 36 percent from the three point line.
Here is a write-up by ESPN while Jackson was in high school:
Jackson is an athletic and skilled wing that can make plays with the ball in his hands like a point forward. He can get teammates involved with his advance passing on the break and as he penetrates, drives draw and kicks as he attacks the lane. Jackson can finish at the rim with good strength, touch and body control and has a nice mid range pull up jumper. He can rebound and lead the break and make good decision with the ball as well.
Friarbasketball.com will have much more on Isaiah Jackson in the days to come.
