Kris Dunn Decision Poll
- Updated: April 9, 2015
As Ed Cooley counts down the days until Kris Dunn makes his final decision on whether he will return to Providence College, Friar fans remain on the edge of their seats. Dunn has just 18 more days until the deadline to declare for the NBA comes on April 28th. His decision will have a profound impact on next year’s team. If Dunn returns, he will likely be named Pre-Season Big East Player of the Year, along with numerous other pre-season accolades. If he doesn’t return, Kyron Cartwright will instantly become PC’s go-to option at point guard – Obviously a drastic drop-off from Dunn.
While Dunn weighs his options, share your opinion on if he stays or goes by voting in the below polls:

There’s always basketball, not always the chance for a free education. Education first!!!

I don’t believe this talented kid’s game is developed enough- especially at 185lbs, for the NBA right now. I just hope that he is not holding his college career as a placeholder for ‘the next level’- I think he need to improve greatly in several aspects of his game, floor game, shooting, shooting off the dribble, directing players for open shots–to step up- and if he thinks he is already there- he won’t make it through the next level- no matter where he gets drafted.

Stay in school and finish your degree! Let your game mature for when you finally do go to the NBA. Shammgod made this mistake and realized it when it was too late.

He’s not that good yet. Maybe later but definitely not now. NBA guards will have him for lunch !

As a life long baller junkie, I would never stand in the way the money. Especially with the risk of injury. But with Kris Dunn I find myself leaning for returning to PC for at least one more year. Even with his medical history. His lack of ball control would be his undoing at the next level.

I think he should come back . Right now he would be the 4th or 5th best PG in the Draft . he needs to fix his high dribble and middle game

Don’t get me wrong- He’s a great kid. But I can’t help but think that he’s getting caught up in the hype of an artificial timetable that may not be good for him individually.

Stay in school. Need to work on ur skills some more. You’ll be a top 5 pick next year if u stay. U don’t want to sit the bench in the NBA. Still have unfinished work at PC. Go Friars!

It doesn’t matter how much he weighs…. my opinion he is already better than rondo… he needs to develope a more consistent jumper and cut his stupid t.o habit. If he leaves he goes 15 to 30 in the first rd. Boy i hope he stays…. but with his injury riddled past makes me doubt he stays in providence.

He is definitely a NBA pg. If he comes back he’s a JR in the class room he’s a sr. So there’s motive to stay he can get his degree. I think that’s what he’s going to do. Get his degree improve draft stock. He’ll be back.

Hope so Phil, this will show what kinda respect, and trust Cooley gets out of his players ! Shammgod needs to get in his ear !!! Don’t make the same mistake !!

I mean Ledo is only able to show his talent because he was cut n scooped by the worst nba team in tne league. I hope they keep him. He scored 21 the other night he looked good.

It does matter how much he weighs in the pro game. As a PG you can get bullied by bigger guys who are just as quick at the top of the key. He not only doesn’t solve that problem, he only thinks about solving how to solve that problem as a ply of one on one skill. He can’t solve the problem ‘in 5s’……….(to coin a ‘group dynamics’ vocabulary word)…………… To play PG at any level, you have to be able to accomplish BOTH SKILLS on the floor. He hasn’t been able to do that as the as the Xavier-road, Seton Hall-home, and especially Dayton-NCAA games give evidence, for Dunn’s play in his only year as a PG.

Bryce Cotton, who might be just one of the really super strong and smart young men American, professional athlete or otherwise, is a better shooter than PG-Dunn. Cotton picked up, very successfully, a really nice jump shot off one cross dribble from right to left——–super shot skill to have.

he’s one more shoulder injury from his career being over, if he is projected as a 1st round lock, go and get paid. he is an nba caliber playmaker right now

leaving does not show disrespect to cooley.. when you have a chance to make yourself rich you take it. if a degree is important to him PC will be there when he is done with basketball
he also has the size that shammgod doesnt, i dont see them as comparable stories
