Friar Starting Five: Wednesday Edition
- Updated: March 4, 2015
Here are links to five topics that may be of interest to PC fans:
1. The PC community lost an important member of the PC family when Fr. Robert Morris passed away on March 2nd. He was one of my favorite teachers while I was at PC and always had extra time for his students even though he was Executive Vice President of the college at the time. I had to take a dreaded Composition class and he made what could have been a very painful experience both joyful and meaningful. Fr. Morris was also a teacher, mentor, and friend to generations of PC basketball players including Lenny Wilkens, John Thompson, Kevin Stacom, and Marvin Barnes. Here is an article in the Providence College Magazine remembering Fr. Morris.
2. PC takes on Seton Hall tonight at 7:00 pm on Fox Sports 1. Here are some previews of the game:
3. PC’s Tyler Harris is going to be weighing his options at the end of the season.
4. In case you missed it Friarbasketball.com has a feature article on LaDontae Henton as he nears 2000 points.
5. The Providence Journal’s latest Pick and Pop Podcast with Kevin McNamara and Bill Koch is now out.
Off the Bench
The Texas Legends have acquired the services of Ricky Ledo for the rest of the season.

I would not be surprised at all to see Harris leave after this year. It may be a mutual parting by both sides.

If his only goal is to be drafted into the NBA, fine Go. If he actually wants to PLAY in the NBA and not the D league then he should stay and develop his game more while he’s here. He is a tweener. And his numbers are down from last year. These things are not helping him. He should use that extra year of eligibility.
