From the article…
In the closing minutes of Villanova’s 74-68 victory at Providence on Wednesday night, with the game well in hand, one of Friartown’s more vocal hecklers directed his ire toward JayVaughn Pinkston. The game was a lost cause, but the fan was all over Pinkston for scoring just five points in what was soon to be Nova’s 22nd win in 24 games this season.
Pinkston, a former McDonald’s All American and one of the more feared interior players in the Big East, took just two shots on the night and made only one of them.
It made no difference.
Center Daniel Ochefu came off of the bench to score 19 points on 7-7 shooting while grabbing nine boards, and Ryan Arcidiacono controlled the tempo and put up a season-high 20.
Four days later Villanova went on the road once again, this time to a wild Hinkle Fieldhouse at #18 Butler. This time it was Ochefu taking just two shots and hitting one. Arcidiacono was held scoreless for the first time all season (0-6 shooting), yet the result was the same: a Big East contender with a ravenous crowd behind it learning the hard way that Jay Wright’s club has a hundred ways to beat you.
