Non-Conference Schedule Released

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Providence College Head Coach Ed Cooley announced the 2014-15 men’s basketball team’s non-conference schedule on Friday, August 29. The non-conference schedule is highlighted by a game versus SEC foe Kentucky (November 30) and four games versus ACC opponents (Florida State, Notre Dame, Boston College and Miami). The Friars home schedule will feature games versus Rhode Island (December 10) and UMass (December 20).
The Friars will open their 2014-15 non-conference season versus defending America East Champion Albany on November 15. Providence will then play two home games versus Binghamton (November 17) and Navy (November 20). Both of those games will be part of the Hall of Fame Tipoff. The Friars will travel to Mohegan Sun in Montville, Conn. to play their final two games of the Hall of Fame Tipoff versus Florida State (November 22) and Notre Dame (November 23).
Providence will return to action the day after Thanksgiving when the team hosts Yale (November 28). Following the Yale game, the Friars will play two tough road games at Kentucky on November 30 at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN2 and at Boston College on December 5.
The Friars will return home to play four games versus cross-town rival Brown (December 8), intra-state foe Rhode Island (December 10), Stony Brook (December 13) and UMass (December 20).
Providence will play its final non-conference game of the regular season when the Friars travel to Brooklyn, N.Y., for a game versus the Miami Hurricanes on December 22 at the Barclays Center.
The Friars will open their season with an exhibition contest on Saturday, November 8 versus Stonehill at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
