Alex Owens Commits to the Friars

Ed Cooley and the PC coaching staff received some more good news on Monday when class of 2015 ESPN Top 100 power forward Alex Owens gave a verbal commitment to the Friars. Alex chose the Friars over Missouri and UCF. Here is what some of the writers have to say about the Owens commitment:

Really like the ESPN 100 PF Alex Owens to Providence fit blue collar forward that attacks the glass.

Alex Owens will help the continued improvement of Providence’s frontline. The former UCF commit is a strong body that grabs rebounds.

A young & talented Providence frontline got even better today with Alex Owens.

Nice pickup for Ed Cooley and Providence with big man Alex Owens out of Florida. Big-time rebounder.

Alex Owens’ calling card is rebounding. He owns his area. Plays hard too. Will help Providence on the glass.

2015 PF Alex Owens (Oak Ridge HS, Orlando) has committed to Providence, per his twitter page. Good get for Ed Cooley and the Friars.

Alex was the second player who attended the PC Elite Camp this Saturday to commit to the Friars as 2017 G-F Javon Taylor gave a verbal to the Friars on Saturday night. Once again the resilient Friar staff rebounds nicely from some disappointing news as earlier in the week when class of 2015 guard Donovan Mitchell selected Louisville over the Friars and other schools.

Owens will join a young and talented front court in 2015 which will also include Paschal Chukwu, Ben Bentil, and Jalen Lindsey.

I've been using camelbak lids on polar bo&3elst#82t0; going to try the real thing. I like that they don't leak when left open–but I don't think they are easier to drink out of. I'd say marginally better than regular bottles.
