Javon Taylor Commits to the Friars
- Updated: August 10, 2014
The Providence College coaching staff received some surprising good news today at the PC Elite Camp when class of 2017 G-F Javon Taylor told Ed Cooley that he is committing to PC.
I have verbally committed to Providence college. #StillGotsLotsOfWorkYoDo#I‘mOnMyWay
Taylor, who will be starting his sophomore year at Beaver Country Day, is the younger brother of former Friar recruit Jaquil Taylor (Purdue). He was recently named to the All Star Game at the UConn Elite Camp.
The reason why Ed Cooley took a verbal so early from Javon is his huge upside. He is already a very talented and athletic player who may be on the verge of blowing up. Even though it is very early it appears to be a solid verbal as his family is just as thrilled as Javon that he will be attending PC.
NERR had this to say about Javon during the Elite 75 Frosh Camp last September:
Javon Taylor –Taylor showed markedly improved ball-handling and shooting. He also had a couple of nice passes during the fast break drills, sequences which highlighted his strong understanding of game situations. In addition, his motor on the defensive end was impressive. On multiple occasions he hustled back into plays to either pick up a steal or help his team get a defensive stop.
We will have much more on Javon and the PC Elite Camp tomorrow.
