Steven Enoch’s Stock Takes Off
- Updated: June 1, 2014
When Providence was tied to Steven Enoch in April it raised questions as few had heard of the 6’9 forward from Norwalk, Connecticut. There’s good reason for that. According to Corey Evans of Roundball Rundown Report, Enoch didn’t play on his school’s varsity team as a sophomore (he’s wrapping up his junior year now) and he’s running with a lesser known AAU program, High Rise-Team Up.
The secret is out now.
Enoch has been one of the top players at the prestigious Pangos All American Camp this weekend. Eric Bossi of Rivals.com had this to say about him earlier today:
Heading into Saturday’s action at the Pangos All-American Camp, 6-foot-9 power forward Steve Enoch from Norwalk (Conn.) High was a pretty big mystery to most observers. Not because his talent is tough to figure out, but because the class of 2015 prospect hasn’t yet gotten much exposure.
On Saturday, Enoch got plenty of exposure and he made the most of it.
Physically impressive, Enoch is a good athlete, has an ideal frame for a big man and he is extremely tough. Enoch can play rough-and-tumble basketball on the interior and he is an excellent rebounder. But, he’s not without skill and his jump shot looks very fluid. Seeing him step out and knock down a three with confidence was impressive.
So far, Enoch’s only high major offer is from Memphis but that will soon be changing. Others that have shown interest include Connecticut, Providence, Virginia, VCU, Kansas, Kansas State and Arizona State.
Enoch’s summer coach George Mathews of High Rise Team Up has seen what the rising senior big man is capable of up close.
“We think that he’s a high-major player,” Mathews said. “He just hasn’t been seen by a lot of schools yet.”
Enoch looked the part of a high-major player this weekend and is likely earning himself a spot in the 2015 Rivals150 the next time it is updated.
Our Craig Leighton saw Enoch at the Providence Jamfest where Craig also caught up with Enoch’s high school coach who shared that Brian Blaney is PC’s lead assistant recruiting Enoch and he’s been in to see him on a few occasions.
Another reason why Enoch has flown under the radar is simply youth. He’s just 16 years old.
Evans shared more on Enoch’s recruitment and development:
Steven Enoch is a 6’9, dynamo of a big man with an evolving skillset. He has the body and frame of a young Samuel Dalembert, but the deceiving ability to step out and shoot the 3-ball with absolutely perfect ball rotation. Unlike most big men who can do this, Enoch does not stand around on the perimeter and instead is engaged within the paint. Currently a rising senior at Norwalk High School in Connecticut, the big man could soon be reclassifying to the 2016 class.
Enoch is a very interesting story. In his sophomore year of play, he didn’t even play on his high school squad’s varsity team. He was effective last season for his Norwalk group, but it seems that over the past 12 months, the junior center has started to take things seriously with his game and skill development. Sure he can struggle in lapses and feel for the game is a work in progress, but the upside that the Connecticut native beholds is mind-boggling.
You can watch more of Enoch here.

How is his pivot- good balance? How is his defense on the block- Is he fast enough to help on the block and double team (and still box out)?

My coder is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!

It’s very trouble-free to find out any matter on web as compared to books, as I found this piece of writing at this web page.
