Friar Starting Five: Wednesday Edition

Here are links to five topics that may be of interest to Friar fans. Today’s starting five has a heavy emphasis on recruiting.
1. PC 2014 Commit Paschal Chukwu scored 20 points as his Fairfield Prep team remain undefeated with a 78-63 victory over Xavier. In addition, the Hartford Courant was at the game at did this outstanding picture gallery on Chukwu.
2. Speaking of Paschal Chukwu ESPN’s Reggie Rankin named him the player “outside the Top 50” to most likely to have a major impact on his college team next year.
3. The PC basketball team is not the only Friar team that has been struggling lately as the Men’s Ice Hockey team has come back to Earth after an outstanding start to the season. Unfortunately their struggles continued last night as they lost a 3-2 decision to the UConn Huskies. Here are a couple of recaps of the game:
4. PC 2015 Commit Ryan Fazekas was named the ICBA/Subway Player of the Week after scoring 26 points (5-6 from the three point line) in a 98-85 victory over Lew Wallace. He also had 11 points and five assists.
5. In case you missed it Scout announced their latest Top 100 rankings for 2015 and Donovan Mitchell cracked the list for the first time.
