A Full Slate on Tap for Big East
- Updated: December 30, 2013
The new-look Big East kicks off conference play with five games and roughly 12 hours of coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on Fox Sports 1.
The league’s premiere broadcast duo of Bill Raftery and Gus Johnson will call a pair of games — St. John’s at Xavier at noon and then Villanova at Butler at 7 p.m., with Providence hosting Seton Hall at 2:30 p.m. and DePaul visiting Georgetown at 5 p.m.
The night closes with a matchup of two league favorites in Marquette and Creighton at 10 p.m. The nightcap will feature the Big East’s best player in two-time All American Doug McDermott and perhaps the league’s best home court in Creighton’s Century Link Center.
Creighton is currently the highest scoring offense in the Big East, averaging nearly 83 points per game with McDermott scoring more than 24 a night, while Marquette is holding opponents to a Big East low 61.5 points per. Creighton is the best shooting team in the Big East, leading the Big East in field goal percentage (.492), three point percentage (a scary good .437) and they make a league-high 11.8 three pointers a game.
