Ryan Fazekas Commits to the Friars

Ryan Fazekas, a 6’7 small forward from Marquette High School in Michigan City, Indiana has committed to Providence. He becomes the first recruit in PC’s 2015 class, after attending Late Night Madness this past Friday.

Fazekas is an excellent outside shooter who will stretch opposing defenses on the next level. This past summer he was with a loaded AAU program, Meanstreets, that included Georgetown commit Paul White, Kentucky commit Tyler Ullis, and Providence recruit Joseph Toye.

Fazekas chose the Friars over interest from such programs as Northwestern, Purdue, Memphis, Boston College and Michigan.

With the commitment of Fazekas, Ed Cooley and his staff have added a lights out shooter to the program which will be sorely needed with the graduation of Bryce Cotton. With the 2015 class off to a great start, look for the Friars to add at least a point guard and a big man to the class of ’15. Of course, this all depends on what else is added to the class of 2014.
