Elite Friar Recruits Kickoff AAU Season Sunday

It’s very early in the AAU season, but Mass Rivals and BABC freshmen, sophomores and juniors will take to the court at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA on Sunday as part of the “Fitzy” All Star Games.

From a Providence perspective, Kaleb Joseph, Josh Sharma, Jalen Adams, Jeremy Miller, and Matt Cimino are all scheduled to be in action, while other notable names include Goodluck Okonoboh, Bonzie Colson, Terrance Mann, Curtis Cobb, Marcel Pettway, Tyree Robinson and Jonathan Joseph.

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC) will debut its 2013 sophomore and junior teams in the 2013 “Fitzy” All-­Star Games this Sunday, March 17, at the Mt. Ida College Athletic Center in Newton, MA.

BABC teams will compete against the Rivals Basketball Club in two exhibition games. The sophomore game tips off at 11:30 AM while the junior game gets underway at 1:00 PM.

Co-hosted by Hoop Mountain, Inc., the Fitzy Games were established in 2003 to generate proceeds for the Paul Fitzpatrick and Robert “Knobby” Nolan foundations, which help to send local kids to basketball camps in the names of both deceased coaches.

Established in 1977, the Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC) has evolved into one of the most prestigious amateur basketball programs in the country; winning 17 national championships, reaching the national finals 28 times, and garnering 88 New England AAU gold medals. The BABC junior team competes in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. The BABC sophomores are on a quest for the club’s fourth 10th Grade AAU National Championship in a row, winning the title in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The BABC and has previously been named Five-Star Basketball’s National Program of the Year.
