Recruits Flock to Providence/BC

The New England Recruiting Report noted that a who’s who of Providence recruits were on hand at the Conte Forum for Boston College and Providence on Saturday afternoon.

Donovan Mitchell

Among those in attendance were Jared Terrell (Brewster), Abdul Malik-Abu (Kimball Union), Alec Brennan (Milton Academy), Jarred Reuter (Tabor Academy), Kaleb Joseph (Cushing), Terrance Mann (Tilton), Aaron Falzon (St. Mark’s) and Donovan Mitchell (Canterbury).

Abu and Joseph have emerged as elite recruits over the past year, while Terrell has been highly ranked for the better part of two seasons now.  Mitchell is the youngest of the bunch, but may have the highest upside.  He was in attendance at Providence’s Elite Camp this summer (along with future Friar Rodney Bullock) and was the star of the camp.

While the game was a loss for the Friars, it was a strong showing for the fan base, as Providence fans seemed to be in the majority at Chestnut Hill.  The stage was set for a Conte Forum takeover, but the Eagles held PC at bay and Friar fans never had the chance.  It was a missed opportunity of sorts, as it would have been a statement had Friar fans been able to overtake the building.
