With Austin held scoreless in the first quarter, Bagwell led Imhotep to a four-point advantage heading into the second quarter.

But it’s hard to keep a guy like Austin down. Unfortunately for Lincoln, the Providence-bound forward came alive in the second.

Austin scored his first points of the game with a three-ball on the team’s first possession of the second quarter to put Imhotep up five still early in the game. His arrival on the stat sheet ignited an 8-3 run for the Panthers.

Lincoln junior Isaiah Whitehead engaged in a back-and-forth battle with Austin throughout much of the first half. Whitehead and Austin could be seen talking in each other’s ears, trying to get in the head of their opposing defender. The refs eventually put a stop to the trash talk before anything escalated. Whitehead ultimately finished with nine points, while Austin finished with a game-high 17.
